Vacancy for Data Protection Specialists
The University of Hamburg, one of Germany's leading research universities with a diverse range of study programs, is currently looking for two data protection officers who have passed the second state examination in law.
Information Security and Data Protection Management
The data protection officers are wanted because the German university would like to better protect the research results of the various institutes and chairs in the future. The officers will advise the researchers at the University of Hamburg on this.
In addition, the university would like to pursue a holistic concept for information security and data protection management, in which various experts will be involved - including the Legal Department, to which the two data protection officers are assigned.

Specifically, the officers will be responsible for the development and implementation of data protection policies and procedures as well as carrying out data protection impact assessments and risk assessments. In addition, the officers will advise the management of the faculties and institutes on all aspects of data protection, ensure compliance with regulations and act as contact persons for authorities and auditors in the event of violations.
Experienced Lawyers Wanted
The university is supported by HR consultants of Kontrast Personalberatung GmbH from Hamburg in the search for suitable candidates for these two positions. They are recruiting lawyers with a 2nd state examination or comparable qualification who can demonstrate sound knowledge of data protection law and the GDPR as well as experience in holistic information security and data protection management.
